Dear residents and interested parties,
In this short newsletter you will find information on the following topics:
1. Heiligdomsvaart Maastricht 2025
2. Results survey for the Inner City
1. Heiligdomsvaart Maastricht 2025
In the period from 12 to 22 June 2025, the seven annual Heiligdomsvaart will be celebrated in Maastricht by the society ‘het Graf van Sint Servaas’. Traditionally, the Ommegang (Detour) will pass through the city on both Sundays during that period. The exact routes of the Detour (a different route on each Sunday) can be found on the website.
The Ommegang consists of a procession of about 75 groups and groups where relics are displayed and also music is played to portray the theme of the Sanctuary Walk (‘Be a bridge builder’).
The Ommegang is expected to attract a large crowd, making passage difficult at times along the route. Parking along the route will also be very limited at times. The organisation asks for your understanding for this temporary inconvenience and will do everything possible to limit it.
A licence has been granted for the Heiligdomsvaart and both Detours, which includes conditions regarding the maximum noise level, guaranteeing safety and preventing public order problems. Measures have been taken by the organisers of the Detours to meet these regulations and to make the event as enjoyable as possible for everyone.
We hope that you too will enjoy the Ommegang. Should you have any questions after reading this letter and viewing the website, please contact us by e-mail at: permanence@heiligdomsvaartmaastricht.nl
On behalf of the Association ‘the Tomb of Saint Servatius’.
