1. Invitation Neighbours’ Day 2025 – Together in the Sterzaal
On Saturday 27 September 2025 you are warmly invited from 11:30 a.m. in the Sterzaal, Bredestraat 19 in Maastricht. Until about 3:00 p.m. we will enjoy coffee with local flan, sandwiches, games and a musical performance. For the children there will be a bouncy castle and a surprise.
Registration is not required, but those who sign up in advance will receive two free drink vouchers.
You can register via our website or by email (info@buurtnetwerkbinnenstad.nl). If you are unable to register digitally, please contact us by phone on +31(0)6 – 113 572 00.
2. Developments regarding bus line 3
In recent months, much debate has arisen about bus line 3 (Wolder – Nazareth/P&R North). After Arriva changed the route via Céramique to Prins Bisschopssingel, several neighbourhoods protested.
Route restoration in sight
Arriva and the Province therefore plan to reinstate the former route – via Markt, Vrijthof, Helmstraat, Bouillonstraat and Tongersestraat. For the south-western part of the city centre, the neighbourhood networks have been advocating better public transport for years. Last year, a proposal was submitted to the municipality to introduce small electric buses, running through, among others, the Jekerkwartier via the Bredestraat to Bouillonstraat/Tongersestraat.
Decision-making
On 30 September the municipal council will decide whether line 3 will indeed return to its old route across the Vrijthof. The prospects are positive, but if the proposal is rejected, line 3 will revert to the situation prior to 24 August. In addition, attention has been requested for safety during loading and unloading in the event of the bus returning to the Vrijthof.
To be continued!
3. Open Day Hospice Trajectum
During the Week of Palliative Care (4 to 11 October), the 10 hospices in South Limburg will open their doors, including Hospice Trajectum in the Abstraat. Guided tours will be offered and questions answered. Please feel free to drop in during this week.
We would be delighted to welcome you at Neighbours’ Day in the Sterzaal.
