1. Magical Table of Stars on Friday 12 December

This year, the Buurtnetwerk Binnenstad (City Centre Neighbourhood Network) and the Koninklijke Harmonie Ster van Maastricht (Royal Harmony Star of Maastricht) are once again organising the Magical Star Table. The gathering will take place in the Sterzaal, Bredestraat 19, on Friday 12 December from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (please note: this is one day later than previously communicated).

You can register via our website. You can also find more information there about the event. We look forward to seeing you once you have registered, but if something comes up, please let us know by 10 December at the latest.

2. New city centre page on Thuis in Maastricht

From Wednesday 12 November, the district programme for the city centre will be available on thuisinmaastricht.nl. You can find it via this link (Dutch page)

Do you know anyone in your area who has difficulty reading the website? They can visit Centre Céramique, Avenue Céramique 50, for help or explanation.

3. The city centre has been a bicycle zone since 1 November

Since 1 November, Maastricht’s city centre has officially been a bicycle zone – the first in the Netherlands! The bicycle zone is an important step towards a more pleasant, safer and clearer city centre for everyone. The area within the ring roads is recognisable by new signs and markings on the road surface. Would you like to stay informed about further developments?

Then visit the Project page of Thuis in Maastricht (Dutch page)

4. Introduction to the Maastricht & Heuvelland Cyclists’ Union

The Cyclists’ Union is a national association that represents the interests of cyclists. The Maastricht & Heuvelland branch represents cyclists in Maastricht and the surrounding municipalities: Meerssen, Valkenburg, Eijsden-Margraten, Gulpen-Wittem and Vaals. The branch has around 280 members, of whom approximately 15 are active as volunteers or contact persons. More information can be found on their website: maastricht.fietsersbond.nl.

5. Opening of the lighting under the Sint Servaasbrug

The new lighting under the arches of the Sint Servaasbrug is ready! This special project not only makes the bridge more beautiful, but also more sustainable and friendlier to animals such as bats and fish. The design is based on the idea “Sint Servaasbrug in ‘t licht” (Sint Servaas Bridge in the light) by the late Mr Louis Prevot and was made possible thanks to Stadsgoud, an initiative of the Elisabeth Strouven Fund.

When: Monday, 17 November 2025, around 4 p.m.

This was our November newsletter. We wish you a pleasant autumn and hope to see you at the Magical Table of Stars!

With warm autumn greetings,

The board of the Maastricht City Centre Neighbourhood Network
