1. 2026 Participatory Budget
Turn your idea into reality with the Maastricht Participatory Budget! Choose from five themes and submit your idea from Monday 17 August to Friday 11 September via www.thuisinmaastricht.nl/burgerbegroting.
Through the Participatory Budget, residents decide together how part of the council’s budget is spent. Residents submit projects and choose which ones will be implemented. In short: it’s your turn!
This year, a total of €750,000 is available for projects across five different themes. Do you have a good idea for your neighbourhood or for the whole city? Then submit it online during the submission period.
Do you have a good idea yourself, or do you know someone who does? Get involved, get others excited about it, or refer them to us. You can contact us for tips and advice both before and during the submission period.

There’ll also be board games, and William Bartels, known from Dansen in het Park, will provide a festive musical programme.

Where: Sterzaal, Bredestraat 19, Maastricht

4. ’t Preuvenemint
From Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 August 2026, the Vrijthof will once again be all about flavour, socialising and good living. During ’t Preuvenemint, you can enjoy delicious food, drinks and music for four days. What’s more, you’ll be supporting various charities.
Entry to the event is free. View the programme and the participating restaurants at www.preuvenemint.nl.
5. The Magical Star Table
This year, we’re once again organising our cosy Magical Star Table on Saturday 21 November. This annual event began in 2022 as the Late Summer Table and has since grown into a lovely tradition.
The Magical Star Table takes place from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm in the Sterzaal at Bredestraat 19, in the centre of Maastricht. You’ll receive more information about the programme and how to register well in advance of the event.
We hope to welcome you again this year!
6. What can I report, and where?
Not sure where to report an issue? The new reporting card from Maastricht City Council clearly lists the most important points of contact. This allows you to quickly see who to contact in the event of an emergency, a suspicious situation, a nuisance, damage in a public space, digital fraud or problems at home.
In an emergency, call 112. For animals in distress, call 144. You can report nuisance or damage to outdoor facilities via the BuitenBeter app, via gemeentemaastricht.nl/iets-melden or by telephone on 14 043.
The reporting card is available in Dutch, English and Arabic and can be downloaded from binnenstadmaastricht.nl. This will enable as many residents as possible to quickly find the right help or organisation.
We wish you a pleasant rest of your summer holidays and hope to welcome you soon at one of our events in the Sterzaal.
Kind regards,
The Board of Buurtnetwerk Binnenstad Maastricht
On behalf of the Board,
Marco Maessen
