Dear resident/business owner,
Toneelgroep Maastricht and Servé Hermans Producties, the producers of the spectacular musical Bokkenrijders, recently concluded their run of performances at Stadion de Geusselt in Maastricht.
Unfortunately, the final three performances were affected by extreme weather conditions, with a Code Red warning in force. On Thursday 25th, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June, the organisers were forced to cancel the performances, much to the regret of the cast, crew and the 17,000 visitors. The extreme heat posed a risk to the safety of everyone present.
As there was no longer any room in the dismantling schedule or the stadium’s calendar, the performances could unfortunately not be rescheduled for a later date.
The producers are deeply honoured that André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra have offered to make a one-off use of their infrastructure on the Vrijthof. This will enable the organisers to still offer visitors a special performance.
The outdoor seating areas are not part of this event. This means that the high fences around the square will remain in place and that the streets surrounding the Vrijthof will remain accessible. However, traffic-calming measures will be in place to ensure the safety of visitors, residents, business owners and other road users.
The spectacular musical Bokkenrijders will take place on Monday 13 July from 9.00 pm to 11.00 pm.
